At the center of Songkeeper is a hand-formed bird in copper and brass. Across cultures, birds have symbolized freedom, perspective, messages, and movement between worlds. Here, the bird becomes the Songkeeper, a reminder to protect what is yours: your voice, your memory, and your inner direction.

The necklace is built around green turquoise, a less commonly seen side of turquoise. While turquoise is often associated with clear blue, natural turquoise can move into beautiful green and blue-green tones. These colors are influenced by the mineral composition of the stone and often give green turquoise a more earthy, ancient character.

Turquoise has traditionally been associated with protection, communication and safe passage.
Jasper symbolizes grounding, stability and endurance. Rudraksha seeds, used for centuries in spiritual practice, are associated with protection, focus and inner steadiness. Rosewood brings warmth and an organic connection to nature.

The strand is what the bird is singing about. Smooth green turquoise and jasper, warm rosewood, rudraksha seed, faceted metal catching light between them. Four different things to feel — cool stone, warm wood, rough seed, hard metal.

Copper, brass and patinated recycled metal add an aged, almost archaeological character to the piece.

At 22.5 inches long, Songkeeper sits comfortably below the collarbone, while the cascading chains create movement without overwhelming the piece. The necklace is balanced and comfortable in weight, closes with an easy copper toggle, and its smooth construction is designed not to catch on clothing.
